Way to enhance 2D textures in 2D focused games

Hi, i recently started epsxe emulation i know that in this emulator we can upscale 3D rendering backgrounds but what about the 2d ones, they are still blurry mostly unreadable or unfocused. i haven't tried any options yet, so is there a way i can enhance 2d textures in a certain video game?
