ePSXe 2.0.5 stutters when played on 5400RPM HDD

Hi. I am having a few problems on ePSXe 2.0.5 on Windows 10 pro x64 v1903. I have a large library of ISO's that I play from on a 5400RMP internal HDD. When I play any game it holds up a good frame rate, but every couple of mins the game will freeze for a second (and the sound would either cut our or stutter depending on the SPU plugin and settings).
