Changing disks and saving problems

Hello, I have two questions that I hope someone could answer:
1- When I try to save in game (MGS) while using ePSXe 1.9.5 it just freezes.
2- I'v been trying to change to disc 2 in MGS, but when I select change disc and go on the new one I get a black screen after pressing continue in game.
