I can't get any PSX emulator to work

Hi guys,

I must be retarded. I have been trying to make a PSX emulator work for hours now. I have tried several options, sticked to the EPSXE 2.0.5. since it has a good rating but I can't get it to work. I just want to play one simple game: Digimon World.

After getting the exe crashing 25x times I came across the overclock cpu thingy, changed that and yay no crash but i just get a black screen and nothing happends, FML.

I am on windows 8, Radeon 6850, Intel I5 blabla and this seems...

epsxe lag issue

Hey guys, I have always had problems with epsxe. I am currently trying to play Legend of Dragoon it runs on psx fairly well, however it crashes when in dragoon state (i hear its a common problem playing the game on psx). I want to play on epsxe seeing as its much more customizable and efficient. On epsxe, the game video and sound lags very badly during transitions, cut scenes, movie scenes and attack scenes.

So I beat the boss from disc 1 (or waited until time ran out) in fighting one of the Ten Wise Men. After doing so i was asked to save all data (like normally from shifting to another disc) from the content that i had, so i did. Now it doesn't tell me to switch over to disc two it's just a black screen, but assuming so i go and i switch to the 2nd disc and it doesn't read my previous save from disc 1. It does work however because the message "switching over to disc 2" will appear and it will...

Controller Confusion

Im running Epsxe Ultimate Pack 2.0.5 and im trying to get a playstation controller to work. Ive look on the troubleshooting guide and pressed F5 to get it to work, configured the emulator to digital, even used advise on both google and reddit about turning on the controller, then the emulator, and then going into config. Ive even tried switching between the two usb ports to see if that would work. I still can t figure this out. If someone out there has the answer it would be greatly appreciated.

Player 1 controller issues

I am having a hard time understanding this issue. I have two wired xbox 360 controllers hooked up and for example, if I play a 2 player game, player 2's controller works just fine but player 1's dpad/analog stick do not respond at all. Every other button works however. Same with single player games, the dpad/analog stick will not respond. In the menu's however, they work fine. I've tried xinput and manually setting up the inputs via the digital option but no dice. So what am I missing?...

Hey guys! New to the scene and trying to get some old friends together again. I have a VPS server that I would like to use as a host for ROTK4 allowing players at different locations to play. Can this be done? If so can someone point me in the right direction?

Remove ePSXe/PCSXR Settings

since ePSXe and PCSX-R store settings in registry i decided to make batch files that remove the settings for fresh ePSXe/PCSX-R installations and for simplicity.
and because using multiple ePSXe or PCSX-R versions may cause problems.

the zip comes with three batch files:
  • remove all settings. (removes everything. its like running ePSXe or PCSX-R for the first time!)
  • remove ePSXe-PCSX-R settings only. (same as above, but keeps plugin configurations.)
  • remove plugin settings...

I need some help, i've spent many hours this night on this problem with no solution.

I used to play my old games in french with ePSXe on Windows, but i've decided to left this ugly OS for Linux Debian, so i've installed ePSXe for Linux and move bios and games files on it. It works greater than on Windows, but games are running in english...

I probably couldnt find it because its such a noob basic question, but with every emu i have i just use save states. Im wondering if anyone can tell me how to use the mem card files, in a way that someone who knows little to nothing about emulators besides zsnes and Gens. Thank you so much ☺️

Hi all, hoping you can help me out here. Having some serious gamepad issues. Can't get my keyboard or my steam controller to work with espxe. I've tried numerous times and searched high and low to no avail. I'd prefer the steam controller (for feel and also because I got a few random buttons to work, but couldn't move anywhere) I have no clue what to do here, guys. The emulator launch problem

I tried to launch epsxe on my Xubuntu 16.04 machine and it just won't start, because this error:
/home/jirka/emulátory/ePSXe: error while loading shared libraries: libncurses.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I don't know what I have to do. I have aleready installed the libncurses5 library.

Today I got it repaired monitor ACER 27 inches
My question is did this monitor improve my game's fluency?
earlier I had 21 inches, and somehow the image strangely stretched and caged, only after replacing the acer liquidity of the games has improved significantly

ePSXe Runs Incorrectly

Every ISO/BIN I run on ePSXe runs at 1.5-2x the speed, even though I clearly have FPS Limiter checked and set at 60. I have even set it to run in admin. Ver. 2.0.5.

I've gone over every possible thread I can find on here and other forums.

Any help to resolve this would be deeply appreciated.

ePSXe crashes when loading any game

Hi all,

I'm running Windows 10 Professional and ePSXe 2.0.5. I've ripped a bunch of my old PS1 games to BIN/CUE files but when I try to load any of them up, ePSXe hangs and then crashes. I've tried the two built in graphics plugins but they all fail.

This is what I see when I enable logging. Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?

I have been a ePSXe user since it's first release.
I recently updated from 1.7.0 to 2.0.5
The 'Use Individual Memory Cards By Game' feature has me perplexed.
I am not understanding how this is implemented or used and cannot find any information on it.
How does it work?
Where does it save the memory card blocks to?
Do I need to create new memory cards for each game and save them with a game profile?
How then would I get my years of saves transferred to the new cards without having to go into...
